We clearly understand that each therapist has unique professional and financial goals that dictate their availability, and we work around their schedule to meet their needs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Can I just work 2 days a week?” tab_id=”1453377329937-fa58d1d6-f2d3″][vc_column_text]Yes, 2 days a week will meet most patients’ therapeutic needs. However, most post orthopedic surgery patients transferring to home health from the hospital or acute rehab will require 3x/week of physical therapy. In this instance, we will work closely with you to make sure the patient’s needs and expectations are met.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Can I just work weekends?” tab_id=”1453377369535-44701ab0-aa74″][vc_column_text]No. Two consecutive “back-to-back” visits are not recommended. However, the therapist can work weekends if at least one visit will be done during the week.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do you provide any benefits?” tab_id=”1453377398212-055f8a95-4b80″][vc_column_text]No. IRS rules prevent that Independent Contractors receive any sort of tangible benefits. However, we at AIRS offer the following intangible rewards:
– Sponsorship of relevant Con Ed;
– Quarterly and Year-end bonuses based on performance;
– Marketing of your services at no cost to you;
– Strong logistical support to maximize income potential;
– Coverage for your patients during vacation, sick leave, or in emergency situations;[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”.What advantages will I have from being an Independent Contractor?” tab_id=”1453377520924-5c9b56c2-6cd6″][vc_column_text]As an Independent Contractor you will have the advantage to choose the caseload you need and be in complete control of your own schedule, maximizing your ability to plan your life and family events more effectively. The financial advantages of being Independent Contractor include higher reimbursement for your services and considerable savings on Income Tax return when compared to employee status.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Will I have to transfer my patient to a PTA or COTA after I do the Evaluation?” tab_id=”1453377548662-19ed28d6-1716″][vc_column_text]No. In order to ensure the best continuity of skilled therapy interventions to the patients, to alleviate the burden of stringent regulatory requirements for PTA and COTA supervision, and to ensure compliance with Tax and Labor Laws, AIRS has chosen not to utilize PTA and COTA in its home health operations. Thus, all skilled therapy interventions from Evaluation to Discharge will be exclusively provided by licensed Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do I have to do admissions with the OASIS form very often?” tab_id=”1453377570704-33bb7a82-3e17″][vc_column_text]Not at all. The completion of OASIS form will be required only in cases where PT is the only discipline present. In all other instances, the R.N. will be responsible for completion of OASIS form upon admitting the patient to home health. Occupational and Speech therapists will not be required to do admissions with the OASIS form.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When I go on vacation, will anyone cover my caseload?” tab_id=”1453377627156-968bcba4-81e2″][vc_column_text]es. Is it true?” tab_id=”1453377678842-1ffa2f58-709c”][vc_column_text]There is no difference in documentation requirements between home health and any other settings. The therapists in all settings operate under the same regulations established by Medicare and PT Board of California. Our web-based documentation system using AIRS copyrighted forms allows our therapists to complete their notes in 50% less time. The concept of “nightmare” is perceived only by those who procrastinate and do not consistently complete needed documentation on daily basis.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How will I get my documentation delivered to the office once I’m done?” tab_id=”1453377705210-87e4ff29-ff00″][vc_column_text]All clinical documentation will be submitted electronically using our web-based documentation system. However, the cost of gas, auto-repairs, maintenance, car insurance, car registration, and/or mileage are subject to deductions on your Income Tax return. We recommend contacting a CPA to further clarify the Income Tax advantages available to Independent contractors under current Tax Code.
